This group of four shawls was made from the same warp. The weft (threads that go back and forth to make the fabric) are varied in color and weight. The more passes per inch the more time involved in creating the garment. Item A brighter peach on the top of the display and is the heaviest of this group though still lightweight. Item D is a pale “peachy” and is the fine weave and the lightest weight.
These hats were inspired by a multi-colored yarn, which I used as a slice of color with a complimentary solid-colored yarn. The hats are displayed flat like a beret. The top row shows the hats from a front view. The hat on the draped head is the same as the flat one on the left side of the bottom row.
The brown/black/green table runner is a reflection of the forest landscape. The flying critters reflect earthy colors of the surrounding forest lands. The specific colors were inspired by friends’ impending marriage and their new set of dishes. Once I had finished this warp I felt the need to further explore this design theme.
